Re-Cap of Banning Pilots - Battle of the Sexes Part II - Boys vs. Girls 4/15/09

Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for avenging their previous defeat versus the Girls team on Wednesday.  After another Washington forfeit scheduled for the Boys, a re-match of the "Battle of the Sexes" match was planned. Once again, both programs performed exceptionally well in many close matches

In an all-doubles contest, the Boys would take 8 of the 9 matches, but not without a little drama & excitement.  In the top matchup of the day, Nancy & Kathy led Cheech & Steve 3-0 before Cheech's ankle injury forced him to retire their match.  Meanwhile 5 of the other matches would be decided by the closest of margins, with Victor & Eric squeeking out a tie-break over Dalilia & Luisa, after allowing a large 5-0 lead disappear.  Hernan & Robert, Justin & Kwang as well as Marcus & Alex toughed out identical 8-6 wins over Vero & Jazz, Sandra & Vicky as well as Patty & Anais respectively in some very back-and-forth matches.  Lizbeth & Jamie also fought back to tie their match at 4-all after trailing early, before finally falling 8-5  to Joe & Miguel.

Carmelo & Daniel dominated their match 8-1 over Wendy & Luisa, while Ignacio & Eloy as well as Diego & Kevin seemed to have no problems in their 8-3 victories over Cristina & Diana, as well as Melissa & Rebeca respectively.

The odd pairings among the boys lineup seemed to contribute to everyone on both sides of the net playing some great tennis and added to the close scores & the fun of the day's contest.  Congratulations to both sets of Pilots & Good Luck to the Boys vs. San Pedro on Friday!
