Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for a slew of exciting playoff news from Wednesday's
city-wide seeding meeting. In terms
of team playoffs, the Pilots are headed to their 3rd straight playoff appearance after a 15-20 year absence. For the
second year in-a-row, the Pilots will be hosting the first round of the playoffs. The Pilots' impressive performance
throughout the season earned them a #5 seed in the Invitational Division of the L.A. C.I.F. City Section Playoffs. The
team will host #12-seeded Reseda here at home on Monday beginning at 1:00 pm. In terms of the individual
tournaments, the Pilots continued to field some of the best doubles teams, not only in the Marine League, but in the entire
City Section. With over 160 doubles teams from 55 schools city-wide, and only 56 spots available in the doubles tournament,
the Lady Pilots will be crashing the party with an incredible 8 players. The Pilots are sending 4 doubles teams, which
constitutes almost the entire starting lineup, to the L.A. C.I.F. City Section Doubles Championship Tournament. Included
are: Veronica Trujillo & Jasmin Jimenez, Cristina Alvarado & Diana Alvarado, Norma Santamaria & Kathy Ngo, as
well as Sandra Medina & Victoria Martinez. The first round of the Doubles Tournament begins on Wednesday,
December 3, 2008 at the Balboa Tennis Center in Encino, CA. Congratulations once again Pilots & Good Luck vs. Reseda on Monday! :)
