Pilots Pound the Panthers...

Congratulations to the boys tennis team for their 5-2 win over Gardena on Wednesday. In singles, the Pilots split the 4 matches with Jorge Zavala winning in dominant fashion, & Travis Nash also winning in straight sets after a tough 1st set decided by a tie-break. In doubles the Pilots swept the Panthers, including an impressive 6-2, 6-0 outing by Gerardo Lopez & Omar Renteria & a grind-out win by Michael Gonzalez & JoseAngel Sotelo in a very back-and-forth affair. In JV/Exhibition play, the Pilots took 5 of the 7 matches played including 3 standout performances: 1) Roger Lorenzana & Josias Rabañales who posted a rare win; 2) Eric Gomez & Danny Guttierez who beat a split JV/Varsity squad; and 3) Kevin Martinez & Eli Villareal who defeated the Panthers' #2 VARSITY doubles pair, 8-1. Great Job Oilots & Good Luck vs Narbonne on Friday!
