Congratulations
to the Boys Tennis Team for their 6-1 win over Leuzinger on Monday. Despite blistering winds & cold weather, the
Pilots were able to pull out what ended up being a much tougher win, that imagined. After taking the first 3 singles
matches with relative ease, the Pilots seemed to be on their way, yet a survey of the 4 remaining matches revealed that the
team was losing all 4 of those matches at one point and that the win would would not come so comfortably. In doubles,
Travis Nash made his career varsity debut and played well despite the loss, filling in for Sotelo. The Pilots took 2 of the
3 doubles matches played, and in great fashion reversed the team's fortunes in 3-set matches. In singles, the Pilots outscored
the Olympians 36 games to only 7 in the top 3 slots, while Daniel Gudino kept the theme of reversing the curse of the 3-set
match by winning his in a third-set tie-break. In JV/ Exhibition action, Leo Alvarado & Thomas Leos battled fiercely
vs. the top two singles players for Leuzinger, while Daniel Guttierez teamed up with his varsity teammate for a 7-3 win vs.
a pair of varsity starters. Great Job Pilots and Good Luck vs. Rancho Dominguez on Wednesday!
