Re-Cap of 10/6/08 Girls Tennis Match: Banning vs. San Pedro

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for another dominant 7-0 victory over San Pedro on Monday. After the last 4 contests between the two teams were decided by 1 point, the latest match became the first such shutout in at least 15 years. Again, not only did the Pilots win all 7 matches, but they also outscored the Pirates 56 games to only 14.

In Singles, the Pilots held serve strongly, & were led by Diana Alvarado who won her match 8-1.  Norma Santamaria, Cristina Alvarado & Kathy Ngo all had very impressive 8-2 wins.

In doubles, Veronica Trujillo & Jasmin Jimenez once again easily handled their opponents 8-2 while Sandra Medina & Victoria Martinez struggled to overcome their own errors en route to an 8-5 win.  The story of the day, however, was Patty Ledesma & Anais Noriega who posted their first shutout of the season with a quick 8-0 romping.

In Exhibition action Melissa Garibay & Rebeca Rodriguez posted a 6-0 shutout, while Jessica Cortez & Lizbeth Medina held their own, en route to a 2-2 tie versus 2 varsity opponents. Jazmine Martinez & Dalilia Cornejo regained their top JV spot & won, while Luisa Martin & Jamie Vasquez, as well as Wendy Arreola & Helly Duran cruised to victory in their matches.
