Pilots Tame the Cougars...

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for their 5-2 victory over Crenshaw on Thursday.  In doubles, the Pilots took 2 of the 3 matches including dominant wins by Milka Jimenez & Brenda Lomeli, and a shutout from Vanessa Jaramilly & Evelyn Lagunas.  In singles, the Pilots won 3 of 4, with Alondra Gudino battling a tough opponent before finally winning 5 of the last 6 games to claim the match.  In JV/Exhibition play, the new partnership of Celeste Garcia & newcomer Darla Romo paid dividends as they shutout the Cougars' #2 Varsity pair, while Jocelyn Correa & Laia Freeman were impressive in their match against another pair of Varsity starters, battling them to a tie-break.  Great job Pilots & good luck as the team opens league play vs. Gardena on Tuesday!
