Congratulations to Julian Frausto & Jorge Zavala, once again, for being selected to the CIF LA City
Section Singles Championships. Unfortunately both Pilots fell in the 1st Round to a pair of talented players.
Zavala managed to take 2 games versus the overall #6 seed in the tournament from Kennedy, while Frausto took 3 games in his
match with another 4-5 games that reached deuce. Despite the 1st Round exits, these two Pilots continue to be a source
of inspiration to the team as Frausto capped off an excellent career with his 1st trip to Encino, while Zavala looks forward
to possibly returning 2 more times, as he is now the youngest singles entry that the Pilots have sent to Encino in at least
the past 15-20 years. Great job Pilots & good luck to the 2 pairs of doubles who make the trek for the 1st Round
of the doubles champioships.
