Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for another set of incredible news. After a long,
grueling season, the Pilots were notified that the team received 3 entries in the 2014 CIF LA City Section Singles & Doubles
Championships, to be held at the Balboa Tennis Center in Encino, CA, beginning on Tuesday, December 2. In singles, the
team's #1 player, Marivi Angel was selected from over 200 singles players in the entire CIF Section, to compete with the top
32 for the title. This is especially significant, because Marivi Angel is only the 3rd Banning player to make it into
the singles tournament in the past 15-20 years, and it is the 1st singles entry the Pilots have received since 2006.
In doubles, Sara Barragan & Elizabeth Cano, as well as Vianca Sebastian & Brenda Torres will also join the top 32
pairs in the entire CIF Section, out of over 300 doubles players, to compete for the doubles crown. This now extends
the Pilots' streak of doubles entries in the tournament, to 10 consecutive years. Congratulations Pilots! Great Job &
Good Luck! (Below is only a list of selections. The actual
tournament draw will be finalized on 11/18)
