Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team who had Marivi Angel, as well as doubles squad, Sara
Barragan & Elizabeth Cano, advance to the semifinals of the Marine League Singles & Doubles Championships. In
Singles, Marivi Angel was on top of her game as she breezed through the 1st round, and battled the #1-ranked player in the
league to a tie-break, after trailing 3-6 late in the match, falling just short of what would have been a huge upset.
In doubles, Sara Barragan & Elizabeth Cano showed their dominance as they overwhelmed their 1st round opponents before
falling in a close match in the semifinals. Congratulations to Leslie Leon & doubles squad, Vianca Sebastian
& Brenda Torres, who also came close to advancing in their matches as well. Now the team awaits news from the seeding
committee downtown, to see which Lady Pilots, if any, may have been selected to participate in the CIF LA City Section Singles
& Doubles Championships. Great Job Pilots!
