Re-Cap of 9/29/08 Girls Tennis Match: Banning vs. Carson
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis
Team for a good effort versus Carson on Monday. Facing a Colt program that has gone 90-0 in league play over the last 9 years,
the Pilots knew they had a tough challenge, yet played well despite those circumstances.
In Singles, all 4 players produced
some great points throughout the match, at times receiving praise from their opponents.
In doubles, Kathy Ngo & Norma
Santamaria led the charge for the Pilots, winning the most games on the day with 3, and threatened to take at least 3 others
with multiple deuce games. Veronica Trujillo & Jasmin Jimenez took 2 games from the Colts, while sisters Cristina Alvarado
& Diana Alvarado also played well against a top-8 ranked team in the city.
In Exhibition action Dalilia Cornejo & Jazmine
Martinez came the closest to producing a match-victory for the Lady Pilots with a close 5-7 defeat.
