Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for a tremendous victory over Gardena on Wednesday. Not
only did the win complete the season sweep over the Panthers, but it garnered the Pilots the 2014 Marine League Championship,
for perhaps the 1st time in the entire history of the school. In singles, Manuel Leon & Joshua Guray fought valiantly
in two tough 3-set battles, while Julian Frausto cruised to a straight-set victory. In doubles, Isai Chun & JoeAnthony
Rodriguez rebounded impressively from a 2nd set hiccup to clinch their match, while Chris Leon & Cristian Talavera battled
to a close win, and defended 4 straight break points to close out their match. Kevin Lam & Juan Mijares would overcome
an early 0-3 deficit, winning 6 straight games, and 12 of the last 15 to sew up their match, and the league championship for
the Pilots. In JV/Exhibition action, the Pilots took 4 of the 5 matches vs. the Panthers. Great job Pilots &
Good Luck in the 2014 Marine League Singles & Doubles Championships on Saturday at Banning!
