Pilots Tame the Panthers, Take Sole Possession of 1st Place...

Congratulations to the boys' tennis team for yet another dominant 6-1 win vs. Gardena on Wednesday.Going into the match, both teams were undefeated in league play, and by virtue of the win, the Pilots now claim sole possession of 1st place.  Banning is now 5-0 through the 1st half of league play for the 1st time since 2008.  If the Pilots can duplicate that in the 2nd half of league play, they will win the Marine League Championship for perhaps the first time ever. In singles,  Manuel Leon had a big win for the team, in a great comeback after dropping the 1st set. In doubles, the Pilots' dominance continued. As a group, they have not lost a single match all season; and have a combined record of 33 wins & zero losses; they haven’t even dropped a single set. In JV/Exhibition play, the Pilots took 3 of the 5 matches played, including a great 6-0, 6-0 shutout by Salvador Lara & Michael Gonzalez.  Great Job Pilots, & Good Luck vs. Narbonne next Wednesday!
