Re-Cap of 10/31/13 Girls Tennis Match - Banning vs. Gardena

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for a tremendous victory over Gardena on Thursday's Senior Day. In doubles, Andrea Cardenas & Vianca Sebastián responded to a temporary absence from the starting lineup by pounding their opponents, while Elizabeth Cano & Alina Parra continued their excellent play.  In singles, team #1 Senior, Sabrina Serrano, played well vs. one of the top-ranked players in the league.  Marivi Angel overcame an early deficit while Senior, Liesel Montañez, was dominant after moving up in the lineup.  Finally, Senior, Renae Reyes battled though some serious adversity after trailing early, and trailing for the entire match.  However, in the tie-break she jumped out to a 6-0 lead before closing out a stellar career.  In JV/Exhibition action, Sara Barragan & Alondra Gudino shutout their opponents, and Reina Caballero helped partner, Jackie Roriguez finish out her Senior Day with a win as well.  Meanwhile, Paloma Granados & Elaine Gomez played impressively in a tight victory versus a mixed-level Panthers squad.  Great job Pilots & good luck as the team now awaits the announcement of the selections to the C.I.F. L.A. City Section team playoffs.
