Bell
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for a great effort in Tuesday's rescheduled,
non-league match vs. perennial Eastern League powerhouse, Bell. In singles, Marivi Angel & Renae Reyes battled in
2 very close matches, while Liesel Montañez won easily. In doubles, Elizabeth Cano & Alina Parra bounced
back from their only loss of the season with an impressive win while the remaining 2 matches ended in tie-breaks. Andrea
Cardenas & Vianca Sebastian led 7-6, before their opponents forced a tie-break, which Cardenas & Sebastian pulled
out to tie the overall team score at 3-all. Leslie Leon & Brenda Torres also led 7-6 before they also were pushed
to a tie-break. This time, however, the Pilots would falter while once again coming oh-so-close. In JV/Exhibition action,
the Pilots took 3 matches with Reina Caballero & Jackie Rodriguez, Sara Barragan & Paulette Fajardo winning, while
Sienna Oropeza teamed up with her varsity teammate, Marivi Angel, for a win of their own. Great Job Pilots & good luck
vs. Gardena on Senior Day on Thursday!
