Re-Cap of 10/7/13 Girls Tennis Match - Banning vs. Gardena Congratulations
to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for grinding out a tough win over Gardena on Monday. After taking 2 of the 3 doubles
matches, and splitting the 1st two singles matches on court, it came down to the last 2 singles matches on court:
Leslie Leon & Natalia Vasquez. As one became seemingly unreachable, with Leon trailing 4-7, Vasquez tried desperately
to close out her own match, as she built a 7-4 lead late. That, however, would prove to be a challenge, as her opponent
took 2 games in a row, to put the pressure back on Vasquez, who responded like a more experienced veteran, winning 4 of the
last 5 points to clinch it for the Pilots. In JV/Exhibition action, the Pilots took 4 of the 5 matches, with Reina Caballero
& Jackie Rodriguez shutting out their opponents. Great Job Pilots & Good Luck vs. Bell on Wednesday!
