BOYS VARSITY TENNIS C.I.F. L.A. CITY SECTION 3^rd ANNUAL MARINE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS

SATURDAY, APRIL 27^TH - BANNING HIGH SCHOOL

Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for an incredible performance during Saturday's Marine League Championships.  Firstly, the Pilots received entries for 8 of the team's 10 starters, more than any other team in the league.  Their presence throughout the tournament was impressive as well.  In Singles, Walter Camacho & Jonathan Soria became the 1^st 2 Pilots to be entered in the tournament.  Jonathan Soria was quite impressive as the #6 seed, advancing all the way to the championship match where he battled not just an extremely talented opponent, but severe cramping.  In doubles, after two walkovers/defatults, the Pilots comprised 3 of the 4 semi-final spots.  Ryo Miralles & Manuel Leon advanced all the way to the championship match as well, taking the 1^st set that saw 11 of the 1^st 12 games ALL reach deuce, and fought back valiantly in the 3^rd set after trailing 4-1 to get within striking distance before finally succumbing.  Great Job Pilots & Good Luck in next week's 1^st round of the team playoffs, in which the Pilots are all but guaranteed a spot after posting an impressive 8-4 regular season record.
