Re-Cap of 4/17/13 Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs.
San Pedro
Congratulations to the Boys Tennis team for another great effort vs. San Pedro
on Wednesday. In a hard-fought battle, the Pilots continued the struggle until the very end, as 6 of the 7 matches were
extremely close. In doubles, the only easy victory of the day belonged to the Pilots as Manuel Leon & Ryo Miralles
cemented their status as the top doubles squad in the league, easily winning in straight sets as they remained undefeated
in doubles play, defeating every team's top pair along the way. Kevin Lam & Juan Mijares led early & stayed
close throughout, while Chris Leon & Cristian Talavera fought back from a 1-set deficit to force a 3rd, yet
both pairs fell in the end. In singles, victory barely eluded JoeAnthony Rodriguez & Isai Chun who were also engaged
in two tight matches ending in identical scores, as well as Jonathan Soria who clashed again in another 3-set affair vs. the
same opponent. Walter Camacho, however, rebounded from the two losses he took vs. Narbonne & San Pedro the 1st
time around, and won his 2nd consecutive "revenge" match in a 2nd consecutive 3-setter.
In JV/Exhibition play, the Pilots took both equal-level matches with Julian Fransto & Javier Gonzalez, as well as Rodrigo
Chacon & Joshua Guray both winning 8-3. Great Job Pilots, and good luck as the team looks to get back to .500 in
league play vs. Washington on Thursday!
