Re-Cap of 4/9/13 Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs.
Gardena
Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for a tremendous 4-3 victory over Gardena
on Monday. The win not only put the Pilots back on track to secure a post-season berth, but also put Banning in contention
for the league title, with so many intra-league matches being so close. In singles, Jonathan Soria won easily in straight
sets, while Walter Camacho fell just short of forcing a third set in a well-fought battle. In doubles, Kevin Lam &
Juan Mijares were impressive during a straight-sets victory, while Manuel Leon & Ryo Miralles recovered from a bad 2nd
set, winning in the 3rd. Finally, with the overall team score tied at 3-all, #3 doubles, Chris Leon &
Cristian Talavera, found themselves, and the team, on the brink of defeat before capturing an extremely close 2nd
set to force a 3rd. Riding the tide of momentum, Leon & Talavera produced an amazing comeback to secure
the win for themselves and the team in an exciting finish. In JV/ Exhibition action, the Pilots won 3 of the 4 matches
that pitted JV-players against each other, with Julian Frausto & Javier Gonzalez, Salvador Lara & Luis Prado, as well
as David Rubalcaba & Ramon Sanchez all coming out victorious. Great Job Pilots & Good luck vs. Narbonne on Monday.
