3/7/13 Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs. Bell
Congratulations to the boys tennis team for
a tremendous 5-2 win over Bell during the team's season opener on Thursday. In doubles, Chris Leon & Cristian Talavera
won easily in their varsity debuts, while JoeAnthony Rodriguez & Isai Chun shutout their opponents 6-0, 6-0. In
singles, Walter Camacho also was victorious in his varsity debut, while Jonathan Soria cruised to a straight-set win. Meanwhile,
Manuel Leon fought off a huge momentum swing, coming back from an 0-4 deficit in the 2nd set, winning in the tie-break.
In JV/Exhibition Action, Javier Gonzalez made his career debut & teamed up
with Rodrigo Chacon for the win, while Lance Mendoza & Julio Sanchez, we well as Salvador Lara & Luis Prado also were
triumphant. Also playing in their career-debuts, Raul Martinez & Jonathan Guray were impressive in pushing their
varsity opponents to a tie-break.
