Re-Cap of 10/5/12 Girls Tennis Match - Banning vs.
Carson
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis team for a great
effort in Thursday's match vs. Carson. In singles, Jocelyn Cuevas & Natalie Martinez both dominated their matches
at the #1 & #2 positions, in only the 3rd & 4th singles wins for the Pilots over the Colts in
the last 68 tries. It is also the first time ever that the Pilots have taken 2 singles matches in the same day over
this Marine League powerhouse. Also, although forced to retire her match due to a serious ankle injury, Liesel Montañez
displayed a heroic effort in what was shaping up to be a grinder. In doubles, Renae Reyes & Marivi Angel, as well
as Jackie Rodriguez & Brenda Torres, mounted late comeback attempts after trailing early, managing to take several games
late in the match. In JV/ Exhibition action, Caroline Ortiz & Alondra Gudino brought home another victory. Great
Job Pilots & Good Luck on Monday vs. Gardena!
