Congratulations the Juan Gomez & Ryo Miralles, as well as Manuel Leon & JoeAnthony Rodriguez for
their great efforts in the 1st Round of the C.I.F. L.A. City Section Doubles Championships at the Balboa Tennis Center in
Encino, CA on Monday.
Gomez & Miralles faced off vs. Puliso/Ovakimayan, the top pair from Kennedy
& lost in a closely fought battle, 3-6, 3-6. Leon & Rodriguez faced the daunting task of playing a doubles squad from
perennial powerhouse, Palisades, and lost 1-6, 3-6 vs. Mack & Gingold.
Finally, Daniel Gomez &
Miguel Pila, the #8 seed in the tournament, received a 1st Round BYE and automatically advanced to the next round, where they
will face the top pair from L.A.C.E.S. who defeated Monroe's top pair in the 1st round.
