Re-Cap of 4/11/12 Boys Tennis Match
- Banning vs. Carson.
Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for another great effort yesterday vs.
Carson. Despite falling short of the team victory, there were many standout performances, as the Pilots won 6 of the
10 completed matches on the day.
In Singles, Isai Chun "Aced" the defending Marine League Singles Champion,
while Jonny Soria took 4 games in his match. The Pilots also created a series of coincidences with each of the 4 singles
matches completed in order of rank, while also each Pilot matched their rank to the number of games won as well.
In
Doubles, the Pilots swept the Colts with both Daniel Gomez & Miguel Pila, as well as Manuel Leon & JoeAnthony Rodriguez
producing a 6-0 shutout seat apiece. Meanwhile, Juan Gomez & Ryo Miralles faced defeat in the eye, after taking
the 1st set easily, but then losing 7 of 8 games, that gave the Colts the 2nd set and a commanding lead
in the 3rd. Gomez & Miralles, however, would re-focus & overcome a 0-3 deficit in that 3rd
set, winning 6 of the last 7 games to close out their match in dramatic fashion.
In JV/Exhibition, Kevin Lam &
Juan Mijares, Josh Guray & Cristian Talavera, as well as David Rubalcaba & Ramon Sanchez all won, while Lance Mendoza
& Julio Sanchez won 7 of the 9 games they played.
