Update on C.I.F. L.A. City Section Doubles Championship Tournament

On Thursday, November 3^rd, the Athletics Office & Tournament Officials released the brackets for the Doubles Championships to be played at the Balboa Tennis Center in Encino, CA beginning on Tuesday, November 8^th.  With the tournament field reduced from it's usual number of entries of 56, to only 24, all competitors are sure to be tough.

First, in the upper half of the bracket, are Lizbeth Medina & Jamie Vasquez.  They will be taking on Eagle Rock's #3 entry in the 1^st round, with a potential matchup vs. the overall #1 seed in the tournament in the 2^nd round.

In the lower half of the bracket, Luisa Martin & Angel Noriega will be taking on one of two entries from Cleveland, with a potential matchup vs. the overall #2 seed in the tournament in the 2^nd round.

Finally, receiving a 1^st round bye are Melissa Garibay & Rebeca Rodriguez.  Tied with Carson's #1 doubles entry as the top doubles tandem in the Marine League, Garibay & Rodriguez received the overall #4 seed in the tournament, and automatically advance to the round of 16, with a potential matchup versus the winner of the top doubles squad from L.A.C.E.S. or Eagle Rock's #2 entry.
