Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Narbonne
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots for completing their 4th season sweep of the year, in
Thursday’s season finale vs. San Pedro. Not only did the Pilots sweep the rival Pirates, but the team took 12 of the
14 matches played this season. The win leaves the Pilots in 3rd place with an 8-4 league record,
and a 9-5 record overall.
In singles, Sabrina Serrano & Jocelyn Cuevas won easily 8-2 and 8-2 respectively.
Still seemingly feeling the effects of Wednesday’s night match, Luisa Martin & Angel Noriega put up a good
fight as well.
In Doubles, the Pilots swept all 3 matches outscoring the Pirates 24 games to only 2, with Melissa
Garibay & Becky Rodgriguez, as well as Jackie Cabrera & Sandra Hernandez both winning 8-1. Meanwhile,
Lizbeth Medina & Jamie Vasquez produced an impressive 8-0 shutout for the team.
In JV/Exhibition action, 11 other Pilots
got to see action, with Brenda Angeles & Jessica Ramos winning 6-3, while Maggie Acicon, Natalie Martinez & Liesel
Montañez, Andrea Cardenas & Janet Diaz, Jackie Rodriguez & Caroline Ortiz as well as Veronica Rosales &
Jackie Macias all combined to take several games from the Pirates.
