Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Washington
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for another great victory over Washington on Monday.
The win was the Pilots’ 5th on the season as the team is now tied for 2nd place in the Marine
League.
In singles, Angel Noriega
& Jocelyn Cuevas won easily 8-4 & 8-2, respectively, while Sabrina Serrano & Luisa Martin lost two very closely
contested matches.
In doubles,
the Pilots swept all three matches, outscoring the Generals 24 games to only 3, led by Jackie Cabrera & Sandra Hernandez
who shutout their opponents 8-0, while Melissa Garibay & Rebeca Rodriguez, as well as Jamie Vasquez & Lizbeth Medina
cruised 8-2 and 8-1.
In JV action,
Liesel Montañez & Renae Reyes also served up a shutout, while Brenda Angeles & Natalie Martinez fought off
3 match-points to cap off an amazing comeback in a tie-break.
