Re-Cap of 9/19/11 Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Gardena

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for an incredible victory over Gardena on Monday in the team’s league opener.

In singles action, Melissa had a huge bounce-back match, after a rough first week, this time winning easily at 8-1.  Lizbeth Medina dominated early, yet had to fight off a comeback attempt, closing out her match at 8-5.

In doubles, the Pilots swept the Panthers with Luisa Martin & Angel Noriega, as well as Jocelyn Cuevas & Sabrina Serrano all wining 8-2, while Jackie Cabrera & Sandra Hernandez won 8-4.

In JV/Exhibition play, Liesel Montañez & Renae Reyes cruised to an 8-1 win, while Brenda Angeles also had to fight off a massive comeback attempt, after leading 4-1, to clinch her match in a tie-break 8-7.
