Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Washington
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for their extending their 13-match win streak over
Washington, with a 6-1 victory on Thursday. The Pilots outscored the Generals to only games & improved
their overall record to 5-2 on the season.
In Singles Rebeca Rodriguez battled hard vs. Washington’s pesky #1 player, while Melissa Garibay repelled the
powerful shots of her opponent in an 8-4 win. Angel Noriega fought off her own nerves after trailing late
in the game, while Carmi Lares dominated her opponent 8-1.
In Doubles the Pilots dominated
the action & only gave up 1 total game as Patty Ledesma & Luisa Martin won easily, while Jamie Vasquez & Lizbeth
Medina, as well as helly Duran & Jenny Castellon both produced identical 8-0 shutouts.
In JV/Exhibition Action the Pilots all played well versus varsity
competition, winning a total of 19 games, and winning 3 of the 6 matches.
