Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Narbonne
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots once again, for a great effort during Thursday’s match vs.
Narbonne. Although the Pilots fell short of the team victory, there were many outstanding performances.
In Doubles, the Pilots dominated the action,
sweeping all 3 matches, beginning with Lizbeth Medina & Jamie Vasquez who won 8-1. Rebeca Rodriguez & Melissa Garibay
won easily 8-3, while Helly Duran & Jenny Castellon won a close one at 8-6.
In Singles, Patty Ledesma, Luisa Martin & Angel Noriega all played well,
yet the story of the day was Carmi Lares. With the overall team score tied at 3-all, Lares fell into an early hole & trailed
0-3. Lares then won 6 of the next 8 games to take a 6-5 lead. A controversial point played at 6-7 would have forced the tie-break,
yet it was not to be, as Lares went down 6-8.
In JV/Exhibition action, Brenda Angeles & Jessica Ramos won 6-4 in the only JV match of the day.
