Re-Cap of 9/29 Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Carson

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for a great effort vs. Carson on Wednesday.  Despite falling short of the victory, the Pilots managed to wrestle away a total 40 games from the Colts & produced several close matches.

In Singles play, Jamie Vasquez took on the toughest challenge at #1 & hung tough vs. her opponent, taking 1 game, while Angel Noriega did the same.  Lizbeth Medina took 2 games from her opponent, as did Carmi Lares in a very back-and-forth affair that had countless deuces.

In Doubles, Jenny Castellon & Helly Duran stole 3 games in their match.  However, both Patty Ledesma & Luisa, as well as Melissa Garibay & Rebeca Rodriguez finished strong & were literally 1 point away from extending their matches even further. Ledesma & Martin actually led at 6-5, while Garibay & Rodriguez fought courageously to overcome their 2-7 deficit.

In JV/Exhibition action, Victoria Serrano & Lily Sivitos, as well as Jessica Ramos & Areli Chun each won their matches 6-4, preventing the complete team shutout, while Sandra Hernandez & Jackie Cabrera, as well as Jocelyn Cuevas & Nancy Goodpastor played impressively in two very close losses.
