Girls Tennis Match – Banning vs. Gardena
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for winning their Home & League opener vs. Gardena,
with a dominant 6-1 victory.
In
Singles, Rebeca Rodriguez hung tough all match, falling just short, while Melissa Garibay & Lizbeth Medina ran off 4 and
5 games respectively to close out their match after trailing near the midway point. Jamie Vasquez trailed
5-6, before running off 3 games herself, to win her match.
In Doubles, the Pilots dominated every match from beginning to end. Patty Ledesma & Luisa Martin,
Angel Noriega & Carmi Lares, as well as Jenny Castellon & Helly Duran won easily and never trailed during the match.
In JV/Exhibition action, Jessica Ramos &
Brenda Angeles, Areli Chun & Renae Reyes, as well as Ruth Caballero & Victoria Serrano all won their matches in career
debuts for Reyes, Caballero & Serrano. The remaining JV players were able to rip 13 games in several close matches versus
varsity competition.
