Re-Cap of Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs. Gardena 4/26/10
Congratulations to the Pilots tennis team for another great effort vs. the Panthers on Monday. Despite the
fact that the loss snapped a 13-match winning streak vs. Gardena, there were several standout performances.
In Singles, Miguel Pila dominated his match from beginning to end, producing
the "dozen donuts" shutout, 6-0, 6-0. After a quick 1st set, Justin Garcia fought back & even
led late, in a very close 2nd set
In
Doubles, Ryo Miralles & Kwang Lee, as well as Marcus Macias & Daniel Quiñonez , dictated the action in their
matches, winning convincingly in straight sets. In the deciding match of the day, with the overall team score tied at
3-all, Joseph Mejia & Alex Chun fought back valiantly after a quick 1st set, to take the 2nd set
and force a deciding 3rd, before finally faltering.
In JV/Exhibition action, Kevin Reyes & Juan Gomez shutout their opponents 8-0, while Eric Mendez & Angel
Amador also won easily.
