Re-Cap of Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs. Carson 4/22/10
Congratulations to the Pilots Tennis Team for another great effort vs. Carson. Despite coming up short, once again,
the Pilots improved their level of play, winning 5 more games overall this time around, and coming extremely close to winning
a 3rd match overall.
In Singles, Daniel
Gomez built an early lead vs. his opponent at the #1 spot, while Daniel Quinonez managed to take 3 games from his opponent.
Miguel Pila & Alex Chun also played well.
In
Doubles, Marcus Macias & Joseph Mejia dominated their opponents, winning in straight set. Meanwhile, Hernan Suarez
& Justin Garcia were in a dogfight, as they dominated the 1st set, yet their opponents stretched it out to
3 sets. The story of the day, however, was the last match on court. As Ryo Miralles & Kwang Lee found themselves
down a set, and struggling for answers, they somehow managed to pull out an extremely close, back-and-forth 2nd
set, to set up the decisive set. Riding the momentum of the 2nd set, full of confidence, Miralles & Lee
dumbfounded their opponents, shutting them out in the final set.
In JV/Exhibition action, Eric Mendez & Angel Amador, as well as Kevin Reyes & Juan Gomez, dominated their
pure-JV matches, continuing to run of success they've had all season.
