Re-Cap of Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs. Gardena 4/8/10

to the Pilots Tennis Team for extending their winning streak over the Panthers to 13 straight victories, dating back to 2004.
In Singles, Marcus Macias fought through a very tough,
back-and-forth 1st set before dominating the 2nd to close out his opponent. Meanwhile, Kwang Lee
dominated from start to finish in a relatively easy straight set victory. Hernan Suarez played well vs. one of the league's
best, while Alex Chun played a close one, winning 7 games.
In Doubles, the Pilots swept Gardena, outscoring the Panthers 40 games to only 13. The top two doubles tandems of
Justin Garcia & Ryo Miralles, as well as Joseph Mejia & Miguel Pila dominated, winning one of their sets each, by
way of shutout. "Double D/ D-Squared", Daniel Gomez & Daniel Quinonez, came charging back after their
opponents won the 2nd set to force a deciding 3rd, closing them out easily.
In JV/Exhibition action, the Pilots' dominance continued as all 3 doubles
squads for the Pilots, Kevin Reyes & Juan Gomez, Eric Mendez & Angel Amador, as well as Robert Guerrero & Steve
Chavez won in straight sets, outscoring their opponents 36 games to 4, while also producing 2 shutout sets.
