Re-Cap of 3/25/10 Boys Tennis Match - Banning vs. Washington
Congratulations to the Pilots Tennis Team for their dominant performance during their Victory
over the Generals on Thursday. Not only did the Pilots win all 7 Varsity matches, and all 3 JV/Exhibition matches, but
overall the team outscored their opponents 108 games to only 3.
In singles, the Pilots were led by Joseph Mejia, making his debut at the #1
singles position. After easily taking the 1st set, Mejia faced a surprising 0-3 deficit, before turning things
around and reeling off 6 games in a row to finish the match in straight sets. Meanwhile Kwang Lee, Miguel Pila &
Daniel Gomez all shut out their opponents in straight sets.
In doubles, all 3 squads, Hernan Suarez & Daniel Quinonez, Justin Garcia
& Ryo Miralles, as well as Marcus Macias & Alex Chun joined in on the "dozen donut party", producing matching
6-0, 6-0 scores in each of their matches also.
In JV/Exhibition action, Kevin Reyes & Juan Gomez, Robert Guerrero & Angel Amador,
as well as Steve Chavez & Jonathan Arredondo were all very impressive versus their Varsity competition, matching
their own varsity teammate, duplicating the streak of shut out sets.
Congratulations, once again & good luck to the Pilots vs. Carson upon
returning from Spring Break.
