Congratulations to the Lady Pilots on a great match vs. Venice on Friday.  After suffering from a 2-hour bus delay, & an apparent breakdown of the bus on the freeway, the Pilots finally made it almost an hour and ½ after the scheduled game-time.  Despite the tremendous amount of obstacles in simply getting to Venice HS, and the darkness that crept in during the last 3 matches on court, the Pilots played extremely well in a 5-2 loss.

In doubles, Dalilia Cornejo & Rebeca Rodriguez, as well as Sandra Medina & Patty Ledesma dominated their respective matches, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, and 6-2, 7-5 respectively.  Vicky Martinez & Melissa Garibay also played well versus two veteran opponents who have been selected to participate in the L.A. C.I.F. City Section Individual Doubles Championships later this month.

In singles, Kathy Ngo fought a pesky opponent in a very close match, extending the 2^nd set, after trailing 2-5, before finally falling in straight sets.  Luisa Martin, Jamie Vasquez & Lizbeth Medina all avoided shutouts & played very well, toughing it out until the very end.

Congratulations, once again, on a great season for the team, and good luck to the 8 Lady Pilots who will continue on in the L.A. C.I.F. City Section Individual Doubles Championships later this month.
