Congratulations to the Pilots for another great effort vs. Narbonne
on Thursday. During this "Senior Day", the Pilots played great during the last home game of the season &
showed a lot of pride.
In Singles, the Pilots
continued to struggle vs. a talented Gaucho lineup. Kathy Ngo built an early 3-2 lead in her match & battled to the very
end, while Jamie Vasquez & Lizbeth Medina took a total of 3 games from their opponents. Wendy Arreola, moving up
to the Varsity lineup for the day, performed incredibly in a tight match that was tied at 6-all through the first 12 games,
before finally faltering.
In Doubles Vicky Martinez
& Sandra Medina as well as Patty Ledesma & Luisa Martin both fought hard & finished with the same scores, while
Melissa Garibay & Rebeca Rodriguez dominated their opponents & produced another 8-0 shutout.
In JV/Exhibition action, Helly Duran & Angel Noriega, Jenny Castellon
& Brenda Angeles, as well as Areli Chun & Dalilia Cornejo won their matches easily, while Carmi Lares & Cristine
Nafarrete battled against a mixed-level Gaucho squad in a close loss.
