Re-Cap of 3/13/08 Match vs. Washington
Congratulations to
the Boys Tennis Team for a dominant performance during yesterday's 7-0 shut-out victory vs. Washington. After
2 tough non-league matches, the Pilots started out Marine League play on the right foot, outscoring the Generals 84 games
to only 21, despite playing without 3 of the team’s top Varsity players, who were busy being honored as academic jacket
winners.
Nursing
a sore hamstring & back, the most dominant performance of the day came as Will Guzman paired up with Ignacio Torres at
#2 Doubles, who together posted the rare “dozen donuts” in a 6-0, 6-0 win. Also noteworthy
was Hernan Suarez, making his debut at Varsity singles, while Ricardo Zaragoza & Justin Garcia both made their Varsity
debut & clinched the match for the Pilots as the 4th victory of the day.
In JV/Exhibition play, Diego Mayorga
had an impressive performance vs. Washington’s #3 Varsity player, forcing a 5-5 tie before
the match was called.
