Re-cap of 10/18 Match vs. Gardena
Congratulations to
the Girls Tennis Team for completing the season sweep during Thursday’s match versus Gardena.
After making her season debut on Monday at JV, Graziel Nafarette joined the Varsity ranks and made her debut at
singles, producing an 8-0 shutout. Meanwhile, Veronica Trujillo & Cristina Alvarado both took care
of their opponents handily. Kathy Ngo avenged the team’s only loss the last time around by coming
back in her match to take it 8-6.
In Doubles action, Nancy Melgoza paired up with Adriana Garcia, to fight off their opponents
(as well as the net), in an 8-4 victory. #3 doubles, Norma Santamaria & Jasmin Jimenez, almost had
a shutout of their own & finished 8-1.
Junior Varsity/Exhibition
In JV action, Jazmine Martinez made her season debut & paired up with Sandra Medina versus
a mixed-level Panther squad. After fighting off injury & a 4-3 deficit, they fought back win 6-4.
