Re-cap of 10/11 Match vs. Narbonne
Congratulations to the Girls Tennis Team completing the season sweep over Narbonne with a
5-2 win on Thursday. The Pilots are now 6-1 on the season and firmly in second place in their bid for back-to-back
playoff appearances.
In doubles action, the Pilots’ doubles teams, once again, swept their
matches. The most dominant victory came from #1 Doubles Melissa Hernandez & Diana Alvarado who posted a 8-1 score.
#2 Doubles Norma Santamaria & Kathy Ngo clinched the team victory with the 4th win on the day, while
#3 Doubles Cristina Alvarado & Jasmin Jimenez fought back from a deficit, (inspired by promises of Krispy Kreme) to extend
the Pilots hold on the match.
In singles action #1 Singles
player Nancy Melgoza once again came through, gutting out a tough victory while fighting off a bad case of nausea.
The biggest stories of the day, however, came #4 singles Adriana Garcia
who avenged her earlier loss to the same player, in which she gave up a big lead. This time, however, “Cheeks”
left no opportunity for a comeback, dominating her opponent from start to finish.
Special recognition goes out as well, to Cinthya Monroy & Veronica Trujillo who face huge deficits, yet never
gave up, showing the true heart of a Pilot.
Junior Varsity/Exhibition
In Exhibition action,
Sandra (not Sandy) Medina & Victoria Martinez played extremely well & also took their match 7-5, While Patty Ledesma
teamed up with Nemo Hernandez in a 6-2 win.
