Re-cap of 10/2 Match vs. Gardena
Congratulations
to the Girls Tennis Team for a dominating win during Tuesday’s match versus Gardena. Not only did
the Pilots win 6 of the 7 matches played, but they also outscored the Panthers 49 games to 17.
Special recognition goes to #2 Singles player, Adriana Garcia, who produced the first 8-0 shutout of
the season, while frustrating her opponent with her baseline play. #1 and #3 singles players, Veronica
Trujillo & Kathy Ngo also almost joined in on the shutout party with 8-1 victories.
In Doubles action, Nancy Melgoza paired
up with Melissa “Nemo” Hernandez (who was playing her first match at #1 doubles) to take down Gardena’s
tough playoff duo from last year. Meanwhile, #2 doubles, Cinthya Monroy & Diana Alvarado, as well as
#3 doubles, Norma Santamaria & Cristina Alvarado both cruised to a pair of 8-2 victories.
Junior Varsity/Exhibition
In JV action, Patty Ledesma got her first win
in a great 6-3 match, while Sandra Medina got back on track for her 2nd win of the season.
