Re-cap of 9/27 Match vs. Carson
Congratulations
to the Girls Tennis Team for a great effort during Thursday’s match versus Carson. Despite coming
up short of the team victory, there were some standout performances by several players, who combined to win a total of 16
games.
Special recognition goes
out to Kathy Ngo & #2 Doubles Veronica Trujillo & Melissa Hernandez for being part of the two most exciting and closest
matches of the day. Kathy Ngo, fighting off nerves & a tough opponent, stayed close in the match through
the first 11 games as her tremendous effort drew applause & appreciation from both her teammates as well as the Carson
contingent. Trujillo & Hernandez, inspired by Ngo’s performance, trailed early but continued
to fight through some grinding rallies before finally succumbing to the Colts.
Junior Varsity/Exhibition
In Exhibition action, Sandra Medina
& Victoria Martinez continued to play well in a close 6-3 loss, as did Patty Ledesma in another close one.
