Re-cap of 3/26 Match vs. Carson
Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team,
once again, for playing a great match vs. Carson on Monday. Despite falling just 1 match short of the overall
team victory, the Pilots played some dominating tennis in all 3 doubles’ matches, outscoring the Colts 36 games to 11
in those 3 matches. Special recognition goes out to #1 doubles Luis Moreno & Jacob Loy, #2 doubles
Andres Suarez & Fernando Ledesma, as well as #3 doubles Juan Tafolla & Fernando Moncloa who all won in straight sets,
with Tafolla & Moncloa taking their final set in a 6-0 shut-out.
In singles play, Jonathan Melgar played very well, taking 7 points from the Marine League’s top player,
while Octavio Ramirez took a game from a much more seasoned player.
Junior Varsity
In JV action, the team’s current 42-game unbeaten streak continued as #1 JVs Gabriel
Hernandez & Ignacio Torres, as well as #2 JVs Gerry Mendoza & Hernan Suarez both won their matches. In
exhibition play, Justin Garcia defeated his varsity opponent 6-4.
