Tournament – Sat. 3/17/07
Congratulations to the
Pilots for a great performance in the team’s first tournament appearance in many, many years. This
tournament boasted some of the top teams from throughout all of southern California, & the team took some tough losses
versus Mayfair, West Torrance & Valencia. The Pilots, however, ended their long, 7-hour day in the
tournament by blasting St. John Bosco in their final match. Not only did the Pilots win 5 of the 6 matches,
but they also outscored the Braves by a combined 44 games to 11.
Special recognition goes out to #1 singles Luis Moreno, #2 doubles Andres
Suarez & Oliver Arreaga, as well as #3 doubles Juan Tafolla & Octavio Ramirez who all shut out their opponents 8-0.
Juan Tafolla also notched another victory for the Pilots earlier in the day, with an 8-5 victory over Valencia.
