Re-cap of 3/16 Match vs. San Pedro
Congratulations to
the Boys Tennis Team for the 2nd victory in a row. After defeating San Pedro last year (4-3)
for the first time in many years, the Pilots backed that up with a dominating 7-0 victory. Overall, not
only were all matches won in straight sets, but the Pilots completely man-handled their opponents, outscoring the Pirates
85 games to 17!!!
Special recognition goes out to #1 singles Luis Moreno, as well as #3 doubles Oliver Arreaga & Octavio Ramirez
who both produced the “dozen donut special”, by winning 6-0, 6-0.
#1 Doubles Jacob Loy & Fernando Moncloa, as well as #2
Doubles Andres Suarez & Jonathan Melgar, just missed out on the “dozen donut party,” with both winning 6-1,
6-0.
Junior Varsity
In JV Action, the Pilots current 39-game
winning streak was at risk after the #1 JV doubles lost. However, #2 JV doubles, Ignacio Torres & Gerardo
Mendoza evened the score by shutting out their opponents 8-0. It was then, that Justin Garcia (1st-year,
9th grade), playing singles for the first time, secured the JV win, by taking his match at 8-2 over a much bigger/stronger
opponent.
Congratulations to
both squads for the exciting victory, & good luck as the Pilots look to keep things rolling as they face Washington at
home next.
